Chocolate lovers had a fun evening of CHOCOLATE
and red wine at Seattle's newly famous Theo's Chocolate Factory

get their cacao beans from, how they roast the beans, and how the
entire process works! Most chocolate companies are "melters"
- Theo's is the only locally doing it from scratch!
After their tour, attendees came out
to the lounge and mixed and mingled as Sommelier David
LeClaire poured red wines attendees brought at a wine bar while
everyone nibbled on other chocolate confections.
Recently Theo's was featured on the front

Wine & Purse Extravaganza!
Westin
Hotel - Seattle
1900
5th Avenue
Seattle WA - 4pm
- 7pm - $35 See 2009 Photos
by Nityia Przewlocki
Over 350 women attended our fun wine tasting & fashion event
concept at the swanky confines of the Westin Hotel in Seattle on
the afternoon of Sunday March 15th. This exciting event was similar
to the extremely popular sold-out "Sips & Shoes" event
last November. If you love purses, handbags, and wine, you'd have
loved "Bags & Bottles," which also helped raise money
for Gilda's Club of Seattle,
a support center for those living with cancer and their families,
founded in honor of Gilda Radner after her death from ovarian cancer.
Women who attended had a chance to bid on a handbag donated by
one of several celebrities, including: Sarah
Hasselbeck, wife of beloved Seattle Seahawks
quarterback, Matt Hasselbeck; Susan
Holmes, International supermodel, successful
swimsuit designer, star of her own reality show filming on VH1 and
wife of Gun's and Roses bassist Duff McKagen; Dr.
Pepper Schwartz, relationship expert, nationally
known sexologist and best selling author; actress
and author, Josie
Bissett, known for her popular role on "Melrose
Place" and "The Secret Life of the American Teenager;"
Liz
Weber, wife of Stone Gossard from Pearl Jam;
Lori
Matsukawa, KING 5 TV news anchor; Rose
Dennis, this city's ruling tastemaker, along
with a bag from Holly
Smith, the celebrated chef from Café
Juanita! And sure to be the most unique handbag at the event, one
that was being specially decorated by famed glass artist, Dale
Chihuly, went for $4200!!
Women who attended this fundraiser were encouraged to bring a new
or almost new purse for the silent auction portion of the event.
Tables in the middle of the ballroom displayed 350 of these bags.
The perimeter featured a host of boutique stores with their most
current bag & purse designs on display and Northwest wineries
pouring an array of their delicious wines, and of course, firefighters
were on hand to sell and sign their 2009
Calendars!
The sensory challenge consisted of two long tables with men on
one side and women on the other. The men started off blindfolded,
and the women handed them 3 mystery items, one to sniff, one to
eat, one to sip. They guessed what the 3 items were, and then removed
their blindfolds! Then they moved down two spaces, and this time
the woman they were across from put on her blindfold, and the man
handed her 3 mystery items to try to identify! This experience
was fun and lively and the winner with the most correct answers
at the end won a mystery prize!
Meanwhile, the other half off the group was in the kitchen learning
how to cook (and then enjoy eating!) 4 recipes that Chef
Kathy Entrop created with chocolate being the theme! Once the
group in the kitchen was done cooking and eating, they switched
with the other half and did the sensory challenge themselves! Then
everyone mingled, made a few friends, and had some more delicious
Efeste wines!
