Thinking about traveling to France and want to know the terrain of the wine regions? Or want to relive a past visit? Sommelier Cyril Frechier, formerly of Rover’s and now with Campagne is originally from Lyon, France, and will take you thru the history and a sensory educational experience you won’t forget. The Bordeaux class will help you better understand this complex region with a tasting of the Right and Left Bank of Bordeaux, the most famous growing region in the world. The Left Bank includes the Médoc and the subregions of St-Estèphe, Pauillac, St.-Julien, and Margaux and Right Bank including the sub-regions of Saint-Émilion, Pomerol, Bourg and Blaye . Are you a food enthusiast who also wants to learn more about wines? Enjoy a fun Friday evening at Cooksworld with local Wine Sommelier David LeClaire as he guides you through a series of wine tastings showcasing an assortment of wines. David will take the class on a “tour” around the world, comparing popular food pairing wines from different regions, including Sauvignon Blanc from France and New Zealand, Pinot Grigio from California and Italy, Pinot Noir from Burgundy and Oregon, Sangiovese from Tuscany and Washington, and Shiraz from Australia and Washington! He will also cover practical topics such as storing wine, buying tips, food pairing basics, and will be on hand to answer all of the questions you have but have been afraid to ask! This will be en educational and entertaining evening!

Lovers

"Nothing pairs with wine quite as well as the
French language," according to Francophile and French language
expert, Anne Brixner, who will be offering a class "French
101 for Wine Lovers" starting on June 9th from 7-9PM for four
Monday sessions. The class will be very casual and in the home of
Sommelier
David
LeClaire, who will open a few bottles of French
wine and serve a couple of cheeses as we learn together some very
basic French.
The class will focus on learning the fundamentals of conversational
French - basic expressions, pronunciation and the foundation of
the French language - especially as it relates to the pleasure and
enjoyment of wine.
Classes meet for 4 weeks in June, (June 9,16,23,30) and all
materials will be provided. No prior French instruction is necessary
as a pre-requisite. Limited to 8 participants. Fee is $25 per class.

CHEF IN DA HOUSE - Tapas w/ Robin Leventhal

Join us for a fun and interactive cooking class with Chef Robin Leventhal of Crave Restaurant fame! Robin will teach us how to prepare 5 different Spanish style Tapas in this interactive cooking experience, while Sommelier David LeClaire explains the art of food and wine pairing with the dishes you will make together as a group.
